Fabio Gonçalves
Founder, Atlantic Wave · Born in Portugal · Based in Munich
I grew up near Porto, in northern Portugal — close enough to the Atlantic to feel it in everything. The salt air, the grey mornings, the way the ocean changes the light. That geography stays with you, wherever you go.
I moved to Germany years ago and built a career in product development. But Portugal never left. Atlantic Wave came from that gap — the feeling of carrying a place inside you that the world around you doesn't quite have a word for. (Portuguese does. It's called saudade.)
Every piece in the Atlantic Wave collection is a quiet translation of that feeling. The Nazaré waves. The Lisbon trams. The swallows flying home at dusk. We make them wearable so that wherever you are, you can carry a little of Portugal with you.
All clothing is made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton through Stanley/Stella — because anything worth carrying should be made with care for the people and the planet that shaped it.
